Hello and welcome to our blog! If you've made it this far, you may have noticed that the data revolution has started and you're interested in learning more about Brintell's products and services. But before we talk about business, we would like to tell you a little bit about how our story started. It is important for you to better understand why we do what we do. Shall we?
In a nutshell, Brintell is a company that promotes data analysis solutions by helping you to translate them into a language that is easy to understand. But even though data and numbers have been our business for four years, it is the people who drive our structure. Along the path, challenges were the fuel for us to reach where we are today. And just like any company, Brintell started out as an idea conceived by someone: the creator and founder, Alex Cordón. Here, you will get to know part of his story and how it culminated in the birth of two companies.
The beginning
Alex Cordón came to Brasilia, Brazil, for the first time in 1991. In his pocket, there was a passport, a document that verified his enrollment at the University of Brasilia and the desire to try new projects. Alex was actually born and raised in Guatemala, with his mother. When he saw that his father was a resident in Brazil, he decided to take the risk and seize the opportunity. When he landed in Brasilia, Alex did not speak Portuguese, did not know anyone in the city besides his father, stepmother and brother, and had no idea how long he would be in the country.
It didn't take long for Alex to see Brasilia as his home. Although he had been studying civil engineering, Alex soon became interested in areas such as computer graphics and geoprocessing - the latter became his specialty years later. Job opportunities soon began to emerge and one of his first professional experiences involved geoprocessing applied to the development of war games.
In the following years, Alex gained experience in the engineering field through various services and increasingly complex jobs. But still, Alex felt the hunger to face bigger challenges. Reinventing himself was an inherent characteristic. He then decided to open a company to sell handmade stained glass. This experience was the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey.
After a few years and two attempts at entrepreneurship, Alex received from a friend an irrefutable invitation to work with the partner company of one of the largest technology companies in the world: Oracle. The pair, accompanied by a team of professionals, began developing new technologies on geoprocessing, in which they created a futuristic interface based on new UX and UI trends, integrating analytical data with maps and geospatial information. Their work was a great success, for which Alex and his team were named partners of the year in the Oracle Excellence Award and had the opportunity to receive the award in Washington, DC.
It was also on American soil that the concept of an innovative company in data analysis began to take shape. In 2016, Alex and the team of developers went to a restaurant in Silicon Valley, famous for being frequently visited by leaders like Jeff Bezos and Steve Jobs. Inspired by the aura of the place, the group decided to accept the mission of opening a technology company. So Brintell was born.
Brintell
The capacity of overcoming challenges is a part of Brintell’s DNA and everyone’s who participated in its formation. In addition to Alex Cordón, other technology professionals were present in the early days of the company, such as Henrique Gomes (at the time, founding partner) and Rodrigo Cipullo.
Brintell, founded in 2016, started with a purpose that stands to this day: to promote a customized data experience specifically planned for each customer. That purpose was the base for Brintell's first and most emblematic product: Intelli Suite, a software that translates data into an understandable and visually striking language, in a completely customized interface. Sounds great, doesn't it? But at first, selling the idea to the American market was not that easy. In Brintell’s first year of operation, we heard countless times that customers did not believe in the potential of our technology.
In 2017, our three-people team started to grow. Brintell recruited employees from all over Brazil and the world. We currently have partners present also in the United States, Europe and India. The second year of Brintell's operations was marked by the expansion of the team as well as the products and services that were offered. The home office format was adopted since the beginning of the company's activities and even today, it allows us to overcome distance and time zone differences, so that our partners may deliver the best possible results.
"At Brintell, we fly and fix the engine at the same time." - Alex Cordón
Brintell was born with an international status already. Our first clients were from the United States. After two years serving the American market, it was time to bring the data revolution to Brazil. Brintell started operating in several Brazilian states in 2018, which represented a moment of great happiness for us. Also in 2018, Brintell acquired Gartner’s advisory. Gartner is one of the largest technology consultancies in the world. It allows us to know about insights and market trends, which has helped us to develop services and products that are more adherent to our clients.
In 2019, Brintell started investing in projects on mobile tech and artificial intelligence applied to agrotechnology. Today, we have several products and services, developed by a team of approximately 25 professionals who share the desire to overcome challenges and deliver increasingly accurate solutions.
In 2020, after many months of planning, Brintell gave birth to a new company: UpData Studio.
Our DNA
"At Brintell, we fly and fix the engine at the same time." Alex Cordón's phrase summarizes the characteristics of innovation and adaptability that exists throughout Brintell. Four years and many achievements after that lunch in Silicon Valley, Alex believes that he has not come to an ending yet. For him, it is always possible to go further, as technology changes every day and Brintell needs to keep pace. Thus, challenges became our fuel. In practice, innovation is also made of mistakes. Steve Jobs once said that "you can face a mistake as a mistake to be forgotten, or as a result that points to a new direction". Let’s go together towards the data revolution!
